A Message from the Chapter President
Welcome to the home page for the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Our chapter is one of the most active in the country and we are pleased that you have joined us. As a member of our chapter your e-mail address has been added to our listserv, which will be your primary source of information for upcoming events. If you are not receiving e-mail about our activities, please contact our "Listmaster," Chelsea Grimmius at
503 267-1638.
A must-have for all lawyers practicing in Oregon's federal courts is the Federal Practice Handbook. The Handbook discusses the practices and preferences of each of the judges in our district. The 2005 update to the federal court handbookis available. See the information below about ordering the Handbook. We are currently working on a supplement that will include our two newest judges, Magistrate Judges Paul Papak and Pat Sullivan.
One of our most popular events is the monthly luncheon on the third Thursday of each month. The luncheons are held in Portland at the University Club, 1225 SW 6th Avenue. Our lunch program runs September through June, and breaks for the summer.
If you have any questions or comments about chapter activities or opportunities for involvement, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming lunches, programs, and other activities.

So now's your chance to influence the topic of an upcoming luncheon presentation. If there's any specific topic or issue you would like the judges to address at one of our upcoming lunches, please contact Katherine Heekin, Oregon Chapter president.
